After studying in both London and the Netherlands, Ndumiso honed his skills in Norit in the Netherlands, after which he returned home to South Africa and joined a local brewing giant as Project Engineer.
His quest for perfection allowed him to quickly climb the ranks and very soon Ndumiso was promoted to Area Manager. His progress from there onwards was nothing short of meteoric.
Ndumiso has gone on to open and manage many more breweries, ensuring all stood up against their international competition; responsible for everything from the brewhouse to cellars, filtration to utilities and ready-to-drink production units.
His passion, ingenuity and love for beer is well known in the industry, and we can proudly say, he is the co- Founder of the Soweto Brewing Company.

Josef is a passionate serial entrepreneur, innovative marketing specialist and customer service spin-doctor, with over 20 years of operations and management experience spanning three continents.
Josef has conceptualized, opened and operated award-winning and trend-setting restaurants, bars and clubs in Europe, South East Asia and Africa.

With Soweto Gold, Josef has won several prestigious marketing awards - 2 Loeri Awards, Cannes Lion Award and The One Show Award.

His beer journey started when he met Ndumiso in 2012 and eventually co-founded Soweto Brewing Co in his capacity as Managing Director and Chief Enthusiast.
